A Retail Store Manager is in charge of making sure that an establishment’s operations run efficiently and that it is on track to meet its target earnings. They assign shifts and duties, set targets, ensure security systems are in place and drive marketing and promotions for the goods. - Scheduling and assigning employees to shifts to efficiently carry out store operations.
- Hiring and training new employees and overseeing their orientation.
- Setting and achieving financial objectives, and ensuring everyone is on track to meet the targets.
- Attending to customer service issues and grievances, resolving them in a timely and satisfactory manner.
- Formulating plans to market merchandise by coming up with promotions, studying foot traffic and other initiatives that appeal to customers.
- Implementing security systems and measures to secure goods and cash in the store.
How to become a Retail Store Manager
While there is no required degree to become a Retail Store Manager, many establishments prefer bachelor degree holders for management positions.
- 1.Take up a bachelor degree in management, business administration, marketing, or any equivalent course.
- 2.Find a management internship or work your way up in a sales or retail role.
