They lead their team by coordinating tasks and training warehouse staff. Warehouse Supervisors typically work in commercial or industrial settings, where bulk products are stored before being dispatched to retailers or customers. As a result, their role is vital to supply chain management in various sectors, like retail, manufacturing and logistics.
Tasks and duties
- Overseeing and coordinating warehouse activities such as shipping and receiving.
- Collaborating with other team members to optimise warehouse operations and functionality.
- Ensuring all safety procedures are followed by warehouse staff.
- Keeping records of inventory, executed orders and received goods.
- Managing and supervising warehouse personnel, including hiring, training and performance evaluations.
- Inspecting equipment and machinery, arranging for maintenance and repair when necessary.
- Preparing and managing schedules and workflows to meet business needs and objectives.
