Delivery Drivers may work in warehouses or companies involved in food or product delivery services. They operate vehicles used to transport goods. They may also handle special vehicles and goods like chemicals and other sensitive items, as well as collect payment from recipients. Delivery Drivers make sure to follow safety measures, road rules, transportation laws, schedules and designated routes to protect themselves, their passengers and the goods their vehicles carry. Sometimes, Delivery Drivers may be required to lift packages, so they need to be physically fit.Tasks and duties

- Adhering to best practices in driving, loading and unloading vehicles.
- Following delivery schedules and deadlines.
- Accepting payments and requesting clients to sign delivery receipts.
- Conducting basic maintenance of delivery vehicles.
- Ensuring complete and timely deliveries.
- Maintaining a good driving record.
How to become a Delivery Driver
You can become a Delivery Driver without a qualification. A driver’s license is required.
- 1.Finish secondary education. Employers typically prefer candidates who have at least a high school diploma.
- 2.Hold a driver’s license.
- 3.Consider gaining work experience as a part-time driver or driver assistant.
- 4.Make sure your driver’s license allows you to operate vehicles that transport goods specific to your industry. The driver’s license code B2 or C means that you can drive a gross vehicle weight of 3,500 kilograms. You may also be required to undergo further training to handle sensitive cargo such as chemicals and waste materials.
