    Teachers are Overworked
The good thingsCompetitive salary and free education for children
The challengesMultiple hours of unpaid overtime and required to report to work on a lot of Saturdays. Some days have straight 4.5 hours of class and assigned sub will be at work from 6AM to 5PM

The atmosphere is not pro-teacher approach, you will get tired from negative critics. You take it at your own risk, if you want competitive salary in your first experience.
The good thingsCompetitive salary for new teachers Good place to train your work discipline
The challengesNo work-life balance Senior teachers are perfectionist on everything but cannot live up to it You will mostly be criticized in your negative performance. They based teacher performance according to students evaluation only. Little compensation, HMO are useless

OBMC offers a competitive salary, but the culture and system are really TOXICPositive: -competitive salary -materials are prepared ahead of the AY to make the workload very smooth Negative: -favoritism -needs validation from senior teachers -you're not well protected by the school if issues arise from the parents -schedule is not evenly plotted; there are teachers whose schedule are from 6:30 AM-6:00 PM -they expect perfection in every event that they organize -senior teachers expect you to go beyond your official time -they always emphasize "initiative", but do not live up to it -some novice teachers are closer to higher ups just because of gifts that are given to them

I wanted to stay for the amazing kids. But couldnt because of faculty politics and amazingly emotionally immature co teachers. Also, this school seemed to want OBMCI to be priority over family, hence a lot of separated teachers. The school will take over family life. Teachers are dispensable here.
The good thingsBack then, I loved how kids were trained to be industrious and confident. I get why this school produced the likes of Lea Salonga. Performance Arts is a strength and children here are trained for work ethics; hence we saw successful graduates.
The challengesLeader criticized a supervisor during her speech. The supervisor resigned to prioritize her children. Leader said along the lines of "Why resign when career should define you as a woman". That didnt sit well with me and some workmates. Not pro family hence troubled marriages in the workplace

It serves as a good starting point, but it's not suitable for the long term.
The good thingsHigher salary compared to other private schools
The challenges-Bias and poor management -Favoritism -Heavy and unnecessary workload -Poor health benefits -Policies are changed from time to time

    Terrible place to be in
The good thingsSalary is good compared to other private schools in the area.
The challengesThere is no work-life balance. You do work beyond your job description and beyond working hours, as late as 10pm.

Too much work but not compensated, I regret working here.
The good things- Competitive salary for an entry-level job. - Teacher training. - Free breakfast every first Monday of the month from 7 AM-8 AM before the pandemic. Discontinued during the pandemic.
The challengesNo work-life balance, they always think you're available to respond. Teachers have too much unnecessary workload. Very traditional and poor management. No room for growth and promotions take too long. Health benefits are trash, no bonus, and no performance feedback. They think of teachers as disposable employees and hate it when they're being criticized. The pandemic brought the worst out of this institution. Everything is just business.

Worst Days of my entire career life
The good thingsFree Breakfast every first Monday of the Month.
The challengesPoor management. They thought that teachers, especially the ones who are new, are puppets. They do not like junior teachers make suggestions- management is always right. There was never a day that I did not regret signing with this institution.

Employees are overworked, not given much compensation.
The good thingsThe other faculty members were easy to work with. The location was easy to travel to. The salary is okay too.
The challengesThere is too much unnecessary workload (not part of the job description). They require you to go on weekends (without pay). You are still required to report to school despite class suspensions (due to storm signals). Because of the amount of work, there is no room for growth and personal development.

    The management is disoriented
The good thingsSome of the employees are good at their job and easy to work with.
The challengesThe medical/health benefits are one of the worst thing in O.B. They lack compassion to administrative staffs. Some of the managers are incompetent and plain arrogant.

Employee Benefit at its best! The best employer ever
The good thingsManagement is always putting not only the employees welfare but also the employee's family their top priority. My family have been enjoying the best employee benefit for the past 23 years and still counting! 2 of my children are now successful engineers working in the country's top companies
The challengesYou have to accept criticism to bring out the best in you and accept that humility and patience is a virtue. This company has no place for arrogant person.

The good thingsO.B. Montessori offers a competitive salary and benefits for teachers. The school gives extensive training to teachers since they will be exposed to a one of a kind learning system also to foster growth and character development..

Good environment to hone knowledge and skills as they have strict rules and you have strong structure to follow.
The good thingsOB Montessori really adheres to a very high standard in terms of services and facilities for the students. They care for the employees and make sure you are safe and happy in the workplace as they promote work-life balance.
The challengesIf you don't want to follow strict guidelines and rules, then this is not the right place for you. There's always a process and standard protocol in everything hence, you cannot excercise your autonomy and analytical skills. They make you feel that you are replaceable and they can always hire someone new for the job. This is a good place to gain experience but not for a long term.

Overworked and not considerate in personal growth
The good thingsGood compensation for fresh grad and first time teacher - 25k/month plus bonuses but stressful to work here.
The challengesOverworked - 6 days a week plus short-notice meetings. You will not be able to pursue your master's degree because they don't want to. Unprofessional management. Lots of unnecessary things to do. They want all the students to pass, so you do not have academic integrity and academic freedom.

Pains and Gains - For Budding Teachers
The good thingsThe school keeps a pristine environment, having materials that are very functional and they mostly have accomodating staff and faculty members. They also put the welfare of the children at a very high priority, especially their Main school located in Greenhills and also in Fairview. They have a spectacular show once in every two years that help the children experience life in the limelight and rigorous practicing for the show.
The challengesThere are many who work well, but you will definitely find people who are very difficult to work with. There are inconsistencies in what they say and what they actually do, even on the part of the higher administrators. The welfare of the teachers are mostly always at the bottom of the list, and regardless of the efforts given, recognition nor reward can barely be given. Criticism weighs more than approval.

The good thingsYou get to meet students with great potential. The coteachers are easy to get along with and helpful in every way.
The challengesIf you're a part-time teacher teaching a special subject, you can't rely on anyone to substitute for you. Everything is also centralized, so it takes a while before quizzes and exams get approved.

The good thingsThey do offer great benefits as an educator such as follows: *Different benefits *Trainings that can be used for applying outside of the country *Out of the country trips *They have conducive environment *They maintain the professional relationship of the parents and teachers *Provides materials needed by their employees
The challenges*You'll really be in a culture shock specially if you came from another traditional school *Very strict in regards with the dresscode of the employees *The management will also force you to perform certain things that you really cannot do *You'll not be sure where you'll be assigned in their different campuses so you better be ready all the time
