What's it like to be an Operations Assistant?
An Operations Assistant assists with a company’s day-to-day functions, keeping things running smoothly and ensuring everything is organized. One main role the Operations Assistant has is to provide support to the operations team. This includes helping with managing schedules, arranging meetings, and keeping track of important documents. They may also be of help in coordinating projects and ensuring that deadlines are met. Operations Assistants are also tasked to create reports, update spreadsheets, and keep records. They may also be asked to help answer phone calls, reply to emails, and communicate with other team members.
Tasks and duties
- Preparing reports, spreadsheets, briefing notes and correspondence materials.
- Managing calendars and diaries and screening phone calls on behalf of senior executives.
- Taking notes and transcribing recordings of letters and meetings.
- Providing support to customers and clients in person, over the phone and via email.
How to become an Operations Assistant
To work as an Operations Assistant, there are no formal qualification requirements. However, some companies prefer applicants with a degree relating to business administration or similar fields.
