On July 03, 1998, a group of enterprising young people gathered themselves to form a company to meet an opportunity not only to start a business but to stir up employment nationwide. These five (5) visionaries, all coming from the South formed what is now known as SOUTHBEND MANAGEMENT SERVICES INC. (SMSI). The company, through an exclusive contract with CITIBANK NA, operates the project popularly known as “ SPEEDCOLLECT “.The company started it’s operations with a skeletal force of eight (8) personnel holding office at the residential home of one of the incorporators in Metro Manila. To date, the company has grown to a total workforce of about two hundred four (204) personnel nationwide operating Metro Manila office located at 2nd Floor JM II Bldg., corner Rockefeller Street and South Superhighway, Brgy. San Isidro, Makati City and provincial branches in key cities such as Cebu City, Davao City, Gensantos City, Cagayan de Oro City, Bacolod, Iloilo, Pampanga.Through its dedicated officers and employees, SMSI has strived further to develop programs to tailor fit the needs of its main client, Citibank NA. The continuous effort to tap new ideas parallel to the ever-growing Information Technology world has been the driving force behind the constant struggle for dynamic changes and development in this emerging sector of the economy most vital to the developing country like the Philippines.SMSI acts as the major collection service provider among the two (2) other service providers of Citibank. SMSI has the monopoly of collections in the Metro Manila area while the Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao locations are shared with EXL and Fastpak. Only the collection activities is jointly shared with the other service providers. SMSI prepares the consolidated Collection Reports per Principal as well as the establishing/tallying of total credits made with Citibank and UCPB.
