Philippine Foremost Milling Corporation, Manila, Metro Manila, Philippines
The flour milling company was organized in 1987 right after the government opened the business to new entrants. The first milling plant was built in Iloilo City and started milling flour on December 6, 1990. La Filipina has always been in the flour business, first, as an end user (bakery business) and retailer (grocery store), then as an importer, and later on, as a major flour distributor in the Visayas and Mindanao areas. The first milling plant had a capacity of 400 metric tons wheat per day. This was expanded to 600 metric tons per day three years later and to 920 metric tons per day after another three years. The first milling plant is the only flour milling facility in the Western Visayas region. It includes 34,000 metric tons vertical and horizontal grain storage, bagged flour and pollard storage, a 20 metric ton per hour feed mill with warehouses for raw material and finished products, and a 180 metric ton per hour pneumatic unloader.

Employees at Philippine Foremost Milling Corporation appreciate the above average salary and generous benefits package, which includes multiple bonuses throughout the year and recognition rewards for long-serving staff. The people and teamwork are frequently highlighted, with colleagues described as approachable, helpful, and supportive. Staff members also value the learning and development opportunities through various training programmes and the travel opportunities to different plants across the Philippines.

However, there are some potential challenges, including insufficient manpower leading to overtime and heavy workloads, and management practices that could benefit from stronger leadership and better acknowledgement of audit issues. Still a good experience but I hope there will be additional service for the employee
The good thingsThe first thing I enjoyed is that I can travel because of their different plants in the Philippines. I also enjoyed that they have big spaces for production plants and have proper PPEs for employee Also their compressed schedule for office based employees
The challengesTheir technical team is usually corporate that is why it is hard to maintain the standard. Lack of manpower And lack of acknowledgement to the problems encountered during internal audits, halal audits and even external audits.
