Mactan Rock Industries Inc. was established in Mandaue City, Cebu, Philippines in 1983 and started as an industrial chemical manufacturer specializing in water treatment chemicals and industrial preventive maintenance chemicals. As the company grew, it began trading in water softeners, demineralizers and ion exchange resins and in just over five (5) years, it metamorphosed from its modest beginnings to a complete water and wastewater treatment company. During its growing stages, the market orientation of the company was focused on heavy and large industries with great demands for industrial chemicals. In order to differentiate itself from the highly competitive chemical industry, the company adopted the business philosophy that “technology must come first before the product.” The company also prides itself in pioneering the state of the art technology in boiler efficiency testing to all its existing and prospective clients and in less than a decade, it became one of the leading companies in water treatment and conditioning and its related fields.By this time, the company is now operating a nationwide branch network strategically located in industrial areas. Having widened its business and marketing coverage, the company opened its doors to new horizons. In 1993, the company started to engage in Reverse Osmosis systems business which were not only affordable to industrial clients but also to household sectors. The company have The organization is composed of two (2) specialized divisions to cater effectively the needs of industrial, commercial and even the household sectors. These are: THE BASIC BUSINESS DIVISION which deals primarily on manufacture of water treatement chemicals and equipment and the WATER SYSTEM DIVISION which covers the bulk water supply and waste water treatment business of the company.To date the company has a total manpower complement of two hundred(247) personnel assigned in various departments. Mactan Rock Industries, Inc. has been assessed by SGS Yarsley International Certification Services Limited and was registered as meeting the requirements of ISO 9001. We were issued UKAS Cert. No. Q13260 and BPS Cert. No. 98/0003, last June 24, 1998. The certificate was latter upgraded to ISO 9001 of the 2000 version. In its quest for a clean and green environment the company has been certified as meeting the requirements of ISO 14001 CERTIFIED SWISS Certificate # 92057 (Green Dove Award) in May 15, 1999. Consequently the company was recognized and was given an award as the 1rst ISO 14001 Certified Filipino SME by the Board of Investment (BOI). Over the years, MRII acquired strategic partners with some of the leaders in hte water treatment industry.
