I worked here for 11 years — a testament to the great people, supportive management, and engaging work environment. Time flew by because I genuinely enjoyed what I was doing and felt happy being part of the team.

I feel secured with HSBC as we have the management on our backs and I love the managers always ask for this question "Is there any help you need from me?"
The good thingsStaff centered company, great management and good compensation.
The challengesI haven't encountered any major issues with my HSBC journey.

The time I started at HSBC is really great after a year and the management has change everything has taken into a bittersweet situation for employees esp. like me working in a contact centre part of the company.
The good thingsSalary and Benefits. They have childcare allowance
The challengesThe management in UK contact centre role is a bit of a red flag, some managers will demotivate you, the account becomes toxic- unrealistic targeted KPI's. Managers has no emphaty and care to employees

No salary increase despite moving from an individual contributor role to a people's manager role. Nakakapanghina.
The good thingsOffice is near my place and they offer hybrid set up.
The challengessalary for an in-house company is way too low if you compare HSBC with it's competitors. No salary increase for a people's manager role if you came from an individual contributor role with the same band level. VERY unfair, wasn't informed about this during my application so I had to resign.

When it comes to salary it is good but expect being burnout and feel stagnant.
The good thingsThe salary is competitive for a fresh graduate and the work set-up is hybrid
The challengesPower tripping, no career progression and the managers are lowkey toxic lol.

The leadership are mostly on another country and no immediate manager can support you. They refrain from listening to their staff's needs and grievances. The Leadership are not accountable of their failures and they find faults on their subordinates and front-liners. They are severely slow on resolving any issues within the company.
The good thingsYou got to work on a hybrid setup.
The challengesManagement and leadership are not culturally welcoming. It is a diverse community but it is not an inclusive community. Speaking up and addressing your grievance is a challenge. work environment is very stressful and in-balance.

Grateful to be employed, far from best place to work.
The good thingsThe facilities are well maintained, they have a cafeteria with various concessionaires. There is also parking for employees on a first come first serve basis. They have a gym and other recreational tools for employees (videoke machine, computer hub, ps4 etc.)
The challengesUpper management does not seem to care about the plight of their employees. Some teams have been rendering excessive overtime and it was never addressed how to go about it. There is also some kind of time restricting application to which you need to log your break time (eating, going to the restroom, etc), and everything else in between as long as you're not in your desk.

It was great to be part of the company for almost 2 years sad to say our department from HSBC north America sell there assets to other Bank and end up closing.
The good thingsThe good thing was, that I was able to learn more about financial stability, how to make your money grow, and options on how to expand your financial needs
The challengesthe challenge was during a pandemic, I got hired in January of 2020 and the pandemic hit us in March 2020. we are in the middle of training and forced to work from home. The internet provider is slow and since limited to going outside, we have struggled to get our equipment.

Poor Management, Low Salary for Tenured Agents
The good thingsIn the early years, management was fine since Speak Up Culture was implemented. The office location was accessible within Metro Manila. Salary is okay if you only plan to stay for a short term.
The challengesGradually, management decisions became poor. Upper management is subservient to business partners and do not care about the overall well-being of their employees. Resiliency is glorified which shouldn't be the case. Annual increase gets lower each year despite having excellent performance records. They say that they'll always review compensation and benefits but years have gone by, this has never happened.

not so 'the best place to work'
The good thingsThe good thing about this company is its benefits and the perks that we're getting as an employee of the bank.
The challengesThe company does not promote the right employee for the position and most of the line managers where the department I am assigned to are toxic and not helpful in some ways.
