Thus, the construction firm, DUROS DEVELOPMENT CORP. was established on September 25, 1990.The word “DUROS” is taken from the latin word “dura” which means durable and strong.DUROS DEVELOPMENT CORP. started as a painting contractor and later engaged in road construction in 1995. The first road construction project was a P60.0M subcontracted project from a Korean company, Dongsung Construction Company for the asphalting of Cebu North Road from Consolacion to Danao City in Cebu. Through a bank loan, the company was able to import an old Asphalt Plant and other asphalt paving equipment from Korea which sustained the company’s business over the years. As the company grew, brand new plant and equipment were acquired.DUROS gained the lead in the road construction industry in Cebu because of its quality and service and holds a “AAA” contractor’s license. In 2010, the company became an ISO-certified for all categories in Quality, Environment, Health and Safety, thus, capable of undertaking international contracts.
