"What's your expected salary?" "PHP 35k" "ARE YOU JOKING?!" 💀 Speechless na lang ako. Tinawanan talaga ako sa mukha! Fresh grad daw ako kaya 20k lang daw ang budget nila for me. From 13k salary sa province to 60k sa Manila REAL QUICK! Nagstart ako 2021 as office staff earning 13k, no benefits, at halos wala ring growth, feeling disney princess lang. Hindi madali but nag-ipon ako para makapag-training sa digital skills. By 2023, lumuwas ako ng Manila, nakapasok sa BPO (20k starting). After 2 years of sleepless nights + rejections, finally nakuha ko Tech role this August with 60k basic. Hindi madali, pero possible 💪

Huwag na huwag kayong mag-settle agad sa unang salary offer na ibibigay. Maraming HR ang may budget talaga for negotiation pero hindi nila sasabihin sa inyo 'yun unless tanungin niyo. Nung una akong nag-work, sobrang nahihiya ako mag-demand pero narealize ko na lugi ako sa workload kung mababa ang base pay. Always do your research sa market rate ng position niyo bago pumirma ng contract. Kayo ba, naging successful ba ang last negotiation niyo o tinanggap niyo na lang agad? 💼✨

Transparency realization: I’ve been here for 5 years and I’m earning 55k. A fresh hire for the same role just admitted they started at 60k. Effectively, I’m being "taxed" for my loyalty. Why do we have to resign and find a new job just to get a market-competitive rate? Should I confront HR with the "receipts" of my colleague’s pay?

Side hustle or full-time job increase, ano ba ang mas effective na way? Feeling ko kasi pagod na ako sa main job ko pero kulang pa rin ang sahod para sa mga pangarap ko sa buhay. Gusto ko mag-start ng small business or online selling pero baka lalong ma-burnout ang katawang lupa ko. Sa mga may multiple streams of income, paano niyo pinagsasabay lahat nang hindi nawawala ang sanity niyo? Worth it ba 'yung extra 10k-20k kapalit ng free time? 🌙🏢
