    Virginia Farms Inc. has been into the agri-industrial business since its establishment in May 1968. It started as a poultry and piggery venture by Doña Virginia Sy Chiongbian in support of the growing demand for food supply from its shipping company, William Lines.The company grew and ventured into a meat processing production which spun off to form a separate company, now known as Virginia Food, Inc. In 2002, Virginia Food, Inc. was sold to Avalon Holdings, Inc.Now focused on swine business, the farm expands its operation in Asturias Cebu and employs best farming practices to maintain high quality produce. It partners with other companies who are the best in their field, from swine breeders, genetics, to feeds preparation, up to the slaughter of hogs and storage using world-class equipment and technologies.In 2008, the company opened its meat retailing arm, "The Pork Shop" which sells pre-cut fresh chilled and/or fresh frozen pork meat and other farms produce. The Pork Shop outlet currently has 43 branches spread over Lapu Lapu, Mandaue, Talisay and Cebu City. The Pork Shop outlet is manned by well trained and friendly staff who provides unparalleled customer service experience to every customer.The Pork Shop also supplies most of the local restaurants, hotels, and institutions in Cebu. Providing them with the best quality pork for their sought after menu.Currently, the company is expanding its operation with the opening of a Meat Cutting Processing Plant in Maguikay, Mandaue, the first in its class in the Philippines. The facility can handle the processing of 500 hogs daily in its full capacity.     I was very happy working with VFI, especially when my batch mates were still there working together with me but when they resigned, I feel burned out with work and I feel the toxic environment inside our office.
