Angelicum College, 112 Sen. Mariano J. Cuenco, Quezon City, Philippines
UST ANGELICUM COLLEGE is the first non-graded Catholic school in the Philippines that focuses more on learners' individual differences through self-paced and mastery learning.A brainchild of Rev. Fr. Rogelio B. Alarcon, O.P., the school was established in 1972. Angelicum College's system advocates that every child is a unique individual whose learning needs are distinct from others thus; each child has his own pace of learning. This is encapsulated in the school's philosophy, "We do what is best for each learner." The school's battle cry, "Grades aren't everything. Learning is!", speaks how Angelicum College esteems learning over and above grades/marks that serves as measures of students' achievements in traditional schools. As such, grades/marks are immaterial in Angelicum College.

    AI summary of recent reviews

UST Angelicum College offers a notably positive workplace culture with a family-like atmosphere and supportive environment. The institution provides consistent professional development opportunities through annual training and retreats, while the non-graded system allows teachers to explore various teaching methodologies. Employees particularly value their relationships with colleagues and the supportive management approach.

However, some aspects present opportunities for improvement. Great place to work for young passionate teachers
The good thingsThis a great place to practice your teaching skills. It will really give you a chance to test the different teaching methods you learned in college. Since it is non-graded, you can compare and learn different pedagogies. The administrators organize out-of-town (out-of-the-country for coordinators) trips for team-building activities and retreats. Those trips gave me a chance to get to know my colleagues more and to be part of something that's intended for self-development.
The challengesThe teaching load can be challenging. There are always a lot of activities (academic and extracurricular) which means that you have a lot of responsibilities. You really need to know how to multi-task. Some parents are also difficult to deal with.

    A Great Experience
The good thingsThe institution has a lot of perks to offer to the employees. Annual trainings are given consistently. Retreats are given before the start of a new academic year. The school also gives great opportunities to the employees. Employees are treated like family; hence, they are being taken care of like one.
The challengesEvery company has challenges, difficult and easy. I didn't resign because of these challenges. The challenges encountered in the institution were treated as things to help me improve in many aspects of life.
