It was founded by Hofillo Lim in Iloilo on 1934 and started its operation with two employees, one operator and one typesetter and its operations, with one Minerva and lead characters.On May of 1935, Hofillo Lim together with his son, Joseph Lim, transferred the business to Manila and later revised its company name to Tone Guide Press, Inc. from its original 13 letters name.In January of 1987 Joseph Lim bought all stock shares of his brother so it became a family business managed by his eldest son, William Lim, the first Chief Executive Officer of the company.
