Great training but poor management & no career advancement opportunities
The good thingsGood training, co- baristas are nice & supportive.
The challengesBaristas are randomly transferred to other branches without informing them the reason. Poor communication from management particularly during performance evaluation. It’s not a good company for career advancement & it’s taking them forever to process the final pay.

The good thingsworking in the with the coworkers are the only good thing in this company because they are the one who makes everything better and jolly to be with.
The challengesthey need to improve giving the right time/day of their salary, add more employee because we are not a robot and they lack of people. the only reason why we quit is because of their poor management.

CBTL has the best products but the worst management.
The good thingsThe best thing about CBTL are the initial trainings they provide. That's it.
The challengesAs an employee, you will clearly feel that you do not matter. All the decision-makers care about are sales. Initial trainings are very competent. But it would seem that they lack training in terms of leadership. Some store supervisors do not feel empowered in their position, and they would even need to work extra hours or even come to work on their day offs. They have a ton of responsibility but would receive little support from their superiors. If there is a problem in the store, they would need to fix it. They would just follow whatever is instructed to them, even if there are moments they do not agree with it. This is the place where dreams come to die and self-esteem hits zero. At least, how I felt was, they would not treat their employees as people. They don't care if you live far. They do not consider those, which is a shame because team members who come to work in CBTL are some of the kindest people one will ever meet. However, you will see them lose their hope, joy and motivation as days go by. I hope one day, the decision makers will understand that the reason why customers would love the organization is because the employees love it first. But it's difficult to carry this passion especially if one is emasculated by the very people you seek support from. Working as a barista is not stressful. The stress comes from having to carry out management decisions one does not resonate with. Business is about people. If an organization does not care to understand their employees, they cannot expect their employees to take an extra mile in taking care of their customers. Hence, the loss of the very thing they worry about every day, Sales.

THE BEST TRAINING GROUND FOR NO EXPERIENCE AT WORK.
The good thingsFirst thing is your TEAM. This would be your second family. The second one is your REGULAR GUEST, they will be your friends the last one is your environmental Working place, this will be your HOME.
The challengesThe management itself, sometimes forget their people.

The good thingsMeeting other people during monthly general assembly and teaching new team members
The challengesHow to handle daily operations and exceed expectations of upper management. Be able to produce such hardworking team members. See the potential of them to go another level of job positions and recommend them on a training that would define their ability to embrace new roles

Beware: Some mandatory contributions are not remitted!
The good thingsNot really a good idea to work here. You will end up with a lot of stress.
The challengesNo little opportunity for career growth. Very few learnings. Verify your government contributions and loan payments regularly because they have a history of not remitting it. Be reminded to always keep your payslips. It will be a big help in case you plan on leaving from the company.

Knowledge wise, this is one of the perfect jobs
The good thingsMeeting new people from different races and making friends with them. Learning different cultures just by studying coffee and tea, how they are produced and where they came from.
The challengesThe challenges is when a lot of guests are coming in and orders are filling up. Peak hours requires speed while maintaining SOP's for food and drink preparations and ensure quality.
