In 1987, a group of eye doctors from the University of the Philippines - Philippine general Hospital Department of Ophthalmology established a professional partnership with the primary intention of providing the best available ophthalmic care for the Filipino community. Cognizant that this could only be achieved by a concerted team effort, each trained in a different subsspecialty so that patients could benefit from in-house referrals and be accorded the optimum management befitting their eye problem. The Associated Eye Specialists was the first SEC registered professional partnership in ophthalmology in the country.Within eight short years, they partnered with an American team of inverstors, managers and ophthalmologists to bring Excimer Laser technology (LASIK). Thus, in 1995, American Eye Center was established at The Medical City as the first purely refractive eye center in the Philippines.

    Better eye sight!
The good thingsWell the environment is good and awesome. Very approachable co-workers and doctors. Salary is competitive and the expectation is very far for what you're thinking of. Each department are helping together so there will be no problem on the work flow of the center.
The challengesDifficulties and challenges are normal but for a typical work like in this company it is very challenging. Working without your partner, problems coming out anytime, simultaneous calling of staff. But in the end of the day all of these are solved by taking up your patience and solving it one at a time.

    Good people, Bad Career
The good thingsWorking at American Eye is comfortable. You get face to face with the bosses (the doctors) and work closely with them. It was a bit jarring at start because of such but as day passes by you'll get to know them and the camaraderie starts. Everyone can be your friend because there's a plenty of people working there compared to a corporate working place.
The challengesI work as an IT personnel and it is really not advisable to start your career there. The work is limited and your knowledge would be caged around the business. Sure you can suggest to improve its IT infrastructure but you'll have to have a lot of patience for that matter. If your goal is just getting paid AEC is right place for you as an IT.
