    Smart is a good starting company for fresh graduates, but not long term. If you really want to go into networking/communications, I suggest apply to its sister company (PLDT) as they have BETTER BENEFITS for their employees.

    The challengesSalary is not competitive compared with other companies; Employee benefits is low and could be better. Salary grading is still the same from a decade ago. No work-life balance at most times.

    The good thingsThe people are open minded and fun to be with. There are frequent activities in the lobby to promote new services and/or to celebrate something like the birthday of the CEO. If the company is in good condition (i.e. has increased revenue over the year), employees will enjoy a very high year-end bonus. The Christmas package was worth it (imagine 4 free hams, and the option for a healthy package).
    The challengesMore opportunities for career growth. Frequent re-organization and reshuffling of teams and employees tend to break chemistry and long-established combinations between team. Basic pay was very low, so employees tend to rely on bonuses to get by. Overtime is almost mandatory, and can get really stressful if there are important events needed to support.

    SMART is still the best employer!
    The good thingsI was then so excited that I'll be working with the biggest telecommunication company in the Philippines. And what really amazed me with SMART is that they know how to attract their prospective employees by offering a good combination of salary packages, incentives and benefits that you could not really decline. Also, SMART is at best in providing trainings for the employees' career development.
    The challengesEvery company has its own flaws and I could say that it can't be avoided even in a good company like SMART. What I found challenging in this company was the technicalities of its very nature in executing the role and also, the very fast-paced culture with a very high rate of competition in a wide-range of services evolving not only in the Metro but also in the whole parts of the Philippines.
