    SHI Designing & Manufacturing, Inc. (SDMI) was founded on December 11, 1989 as a joint venture company of Sumitomo Heavy Industries, Ltd. (SHI) and Atlantic Gulf & Pacific Company of Manila Inc. (AG&P). SDMI started commercial operations in April 1990. SHI owned 90% of share and AG&P owned 10%, respectively. On March 10, 1999 SHI acquirred AG&P's share by request of AG&P. SDMI is now a SHI's wholly owned subsidiary company. SDMI is registered with the Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA) and Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). SDMI has its new office at 20th Flr. One Corporate Centre, Julia Vargas Ave. cor. Meralco Ave., Ortigas Center, Pasig City. the main business of SDMI consists of engineering and design of various process plants/equipments, pollution control plants/equipments, industrial machineries, circulating fluidized bed (CFB) boiler etc., creation of software for aforesaid plants/equipments/machineries and development of softwared for web applications. Its secondary business line is technical support services such as commissioning, procurement, after sales service and maintenance services for highly technical SHI products such as laser machines, robotic control systems,etc...
