What’s it like working at Reedley International School?

    AI summary of recent reviews

Reedley International School offers a supportive environment with growth-minded colleagues and kind students and leaders. It has a friendly community of welcoming, smart teachers. The school takes a wholistic, student-focused approach to develop well-mannered students. As an accredited institution, it has coordinated systems and structures in place.

However, some employees feel more training could be provided, especially for teaching students with disabilities and on curriculum and grading. There are also indications the workload can be stressful and compensation may not fully account for the work required. A few noted difficulties working with administration at times, such as changing guidelines during COVID-19.

Fast Paced, Unorganized, Doesn't Take Care of Employees
The good thingsI really enjoyed teaching the students. The students were very friendly and well mannered. I also enjoyed the starting salary.
The challengesI did not like the lack of training at this school. They accept students that have disabilities but they do not provide training on how to handle these students until it's your second year. Their curriculum and grading system is different however they did not provide sufficient training on such important aspects to teaching. They only gave a very brief seminar explaining the grading system and the curriculum, but no further training was given. The admin is difficult to work with also. During the course of the ECQ, they have given a different set of guidelines every week. Personally speaking that is difficult because it makes it hard to keep up with the system when the admin keeps changing their mind. The school did not offer any help during the covid-19 situation. Working here really was terrible
