The Philippine Carabao Center was created through Republic Act No. 7307 or better known as the Philippine Carabao Act of 1992. The center is under the Department of Agriculture and mandated to conserve, propagate and promote the Carabao as a source of milk, meat, draft power and hide to benefit the rural farmers. Our mission is to improve the general well-being and competitiveness of the livestock industry stakeholders through: Technology Development and animal biotechnology, Genetic Improvement, Food safety and environmental compliance, Technology dissemination and knowledge management, Active private sector participation, Livestock-based enterprises and Policy reforms to sustain development and livestock enterprises. Thus, ensuring socio-economic empowerment for nation building.
