What’s it like working at Pail and Shovel Integrated School, Inc.?

    AI summary of recent reviews

The school environment is characterised by hardworking and dependable colleagues, and offers competitive compensation compared to other small educational institutions in the area.

Areas for improvement include the approach to management and leadership, with concerns about micromanagement and engagement levels. The work-life balance could be enhanced, as current expectations include significant after-hours work. There are also opportunities to improve facilities maintenance and professional development programmes, which would benefit from more structure and professional delivery.

    Full of drama and issues
The good thingsStudents and parents only
The challengesCo teachers will make issues and stories about you when they are bored. Supervisors will not train you because they are not trained. Full of “heart to heart” none sense no actual training. Paperworks will be expected from you even weekends. Academic team leader and school coordinator are mostly absent. Only cares about themselves. Rejects leaves for no valid reason and can’t explain when asked. says they are available to talk but is never available for anyone but their favorites. Training officer is unprofessional. No respect when talking to other people. Masking everything as feedback. No consideration. Finds a way to make every thing about her. Will call out teachers wearing clothes she does not like but goes to work wearing off clothes calling it as “fashion” Ceo and directress are not familiar with students. No respect to policies they made in the first place. Instructions change always so work is wasted.

    not recommended. go save yourself.
The good things-workmates are hardworking -parents are generous
The challenges-micromanagers run the place from owners to middle management -owners always talk about positive discipline but does traditional approach the moment they have interactions with the students -facilities could be improved, leaks and pests in the classrooms are an ongoing concern -work load is too much from class hours to paperworks

    Worst mistake of my life.
The good thingsCo-workers are dependable, bosses aren't
The challengesAdministration operates largely on ego-driven, parent-pleasing decisions rather than sound educational practice. From the start, parents are expected to shoulder a significant amount of expenses, materials, and even time commitments to reduce school costs. Frequent events and projects feel more performative than educational—often poorly aligned with the curriculum and seemingly done for clout rather than student learning. Administration is highly defensive and avoids constructive feedback. Heavy use of CCTV cameras are more like surveillance of teachers, staff, and even parents rather than a genuine safety measure. Tuition increases are justified as “teacher training,” yet most trainings are conducted internally by fellow teachers, with questionable credibility and no visible improvements in facilities. Management presence is minimal; when present, interactions feel superficial or insincere. Facilities and resources do not improve despite yearly fee increases.
