NAMRIAThe National Mapping and Resource Information Authority (NAMRIA) is the country’s central mapping agency. It is attached to the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR).NAMRIA contributes to the nation’s economic, social, and environmental goals using state-of-the-art technology to produce maps, charts, and other geospatial information products and services which are essential tools for planning and decision making. The agency envisions to be a center of excellence by building a geospatially-empowered Philippines that will help bring about a government that fully utilizes geospatial information for effective governance and an empowered citizenry that benefits from the use of geospatial data applications in their day-to-day activities.NAMRIA’s core functions are Geodetic Reference System Development and Maintenance; Topographic Mapping; Hydrography, Physical Oceanography, and Nautical Charting; Environment and Natural Resource Mapping; Maritime Zones and Boundaries Mapping; and Geospatial Information Management and Services.NAMRIA products like maps, nautical charts, satellite imageries, aerial photographs, and publications are available to the general public. The agency offers services on hydrographic, physical oceanographic, geodetic, topographic and photogrammetric, and land classification surveys; and services on mapping, hydrography, remote sensing, systems development and programming, and database management.NAMRIA has the following facilities: active geodetic stations, survey vessels, Muntinlupa magnetic observatory, primary tide stations, NAMRIA Geomatics Training Center, NAMRIA Data Center housing the Philippine Geoportal and the different branch servers, map sales offices, Information and Client Service Units, a museum, and a library. NAMRIA serves as the National Oceanographic Data Center.
