Jacobi Carbons Philippines, Inc. was established in the first quarter of 2012 and was engaged in purchasing of coconut shell charcoal (CSC) from local farmers, granulated them to required sizes and prepared them for export to its affiliate companies in India, Vietnam and Sri Lanka after a thorough quality control process. At an average shipment volume of 700-1000 metric tons weekly, these were being used to manufacture Activated Carbon of the other affiliate locations. Later, an activation facility was set up in Villanueva, Misamis Oriental.Jacobi Carbons Philippines, Inc. was granted the Certification for Start of Commercial Operation on August 1, 2015 and is registered as an Ecozone Export Enterprise with the Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA). The first export shipment of manufactured activated carbon went out on August 20, 2015 to Auckland, California, USA. Not long after, the new plant facility was officially inaugurated on September 22, 2015.It operates within a total land area of 4.8-hectares at PHIVIDEC Industrial Estate. The scope of its registered activity with PEZA is to engage in the production of normal and value-added activated carbon, charcoal for activation and granulated charcoal and importation raw materials, machinery and equipment used directly in its registered operations.With an annual capacity of 15,000 metric tons, JCX continues to produce and export Activated Carbon to the world market.
