What’s it like working at Gong cha?

    AI summary of recent reviews

Working at Gong cha offers several positive aspects, including a laid-back work environment with periods of free time during shifts. Employees particularly value their helpful colleagues and the satisfaction of preparing drinks for appreciative customers. The work atmosphere allows for good relationships among crew members and provides opportunities to interact with different staff across various store locations.

However, there are several areas that present challenges for employees. The communication with management can be difficult, and there appears to be limited training support for staff learning drink recipes and procedures. Additionally, concerns have been raised about compensation and benefits, including low wages and lack of health insurance. During peak times, workload management can be challenging, particularly when staff members need to handle multiple orders independently.

It is good if you're only planning to gain some barista experience, but they really lack in managing their employees.
The good thingsThe job is not tiring, it is laid-back and you have a lot of free time.
The challengesThere is lots of beverage recipes that need to be memorized, actually the memorizing part is manageable. The challenge really is in the management , they are hard to reach and quite unpredictable.
