What’s it like working at Gakken Philippines?

    AI summary of recent reviews

Employees value the training and development opportunities at Gakken Philippines, noting that the company provides a good training ground that stretches employees beyond their capabilities and prepares them for career advancement. The benefits and incentives are appreciated, including reimbursements, commissions, and extra incentives. Some employees highlight supportive management with good leaders who care for employees and provide necessary training. The company's emphasis on family orientation and spirituality, with Christian values reflected in its vision and mission, is also valued by employees.

However, there are some potential challenges, such as a high-stress work environment that requires strong emotional resilience and can lead to burnout. Employees indicate that management could be more open to feedback and new ideas, with some perception that standard protocols are occasionally bypassed. Work/life balance can be challenging, with difficulty scheduling leave and pressure to prioritise work commitments. Some employees feel that salary levels are average compared to workload, though this is partially offset by incentives. Sales quotas and targets are a regular part of the role with monthly performance monitoring, and career growth can be slow, with performance evaluations potentially underutilised for recognising contributions.

This company is suitable for fresh graduates or those looking to build their experience quickly. However, due to the stressful work culture, weak leadership structure, and limited growth opportunities, it may not be ideal for long-term employment.

I would say, 7 out of 10. Still quite fair for me. I know, as the company continues to grow and develop, I think changes is inevitable and pain is part of growth. Still grateful to the people I met, befriended, and those I treat as my real family and those who treats me as one.
The good thingsI like how you are being trained beyond your capabilities. You'll be highly valuable asset to the company afterwards. Good training ground to achieve higher roles inside or outside the organization. You'll be stretched to be efficient and proficient. Great and new experiences especially for me.
The challengesI think the organization must workout true family orientation and spirituality. Beside right and proper handling of the things I mentioned, I don't see any other reason to hate the company. There's no perfect company, you just need to choose where you want to put your energy, skills, and talents.

The company prioritizes sales and revenue over employee well-being. No support for employees, leading to high stress and burnout. The workload is demanding, and management expects results without considering the long-term impact on their people. As a result, many employees feel exhausted and unappreciated, which has led to a high turnover rate. If you're looking for a company that values wok-life balance and employee development, this might not be the right place for you.
The good thingsConvenient location near the LRT, making commuting easier.
The challenges-Employee well being is not a prority -No support from the management - management is not open to employees feedback. -Lack of career growth and worklife balance -High burnout rate, leading to frequent resignations.
