From its humble beginnings as a night school for working students, De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde continues to blaze trails for innovative educational programs with a thrust on learner-centered educational philosophy.Benilde is known for pioneering degree programs that were not considered career-viable decades ago and hence, were not offered in other colleges and universities. Today, we are recognized for our innovation and we continue to offer non-traditional programs that are responsive to established industries and emerging fields of specializations in design and arts, hotel and tourism, business, deaf applied studies, diplomatic affairs, and multidisciplinary studies.Since 2016, Benilde’s School of Hotel, Restaurant, and Institution Management is the only hotel school in the country to hold a Level IV status, the highest recognition given by the Philippine Accrediting Association of Schools, Colleges and Universities (PAASCU), and to be recognized as a Center of Excellence by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) at the same time. Benilde’s School of Management and Information Technology has been conferred as a CHED Center of Excellence for its Business Administration programs as well, and has achieved PAASCU Level 4 status in Human Resource Management and Export Management. In 2019, Benilde has been granted autonomous status by CHED as officially conferred by the issuance of CMO No. 12, series of 2019.Benilde is recognized internationally. The ASEAN University Network-Quality Assurance (AUN-QA) has granted international accreditations to the Bachelor of Science in Hotel, Restaurant and Institution Management, the Bachelor of Science in Business Administration-Major in Computer Applications and Bachelor of Science in Business Administration-Major in Export Management.

The good thingsI’ve appreciated the strong community culture and sense of belonging. The institution invests in formation activities, retreats, and team-building initiatives that help you grow personally and professionally. Flexible work arrangements for administrative staff also support work-life balance. Overall, it’s a place where people genuinely value service, collaboration, and shared mission.
The challengesDepending on which office or unit you belong to, workload boundaries may become blurred. In my experience, there were responsibilities and situations that fell outside defined job functions but were still expected in the spirit of “mission.” While meaningful, this sometimes led to fatigue. Additionally, internal dynamics and workplace drama can occasionally get in the way of productivity and focus.

Great place to work but depens on the department.
The good thingsThe camaraderie among rank-and-file employees is great.
Very inclusive school. Can enjoy and/or participate in school activities for employees even the contractual.
Free or discounted passes to art exhibits and stage plays, and concerts performed by students.
Free NCAA tickets.
Work is decent and colleagues are reliable and cooperative.
Immediate supervisor is sympathetic and supportive of our goals.
The challengesNo overtime pay for our tasks that reached beyond our schedule.
Power tripping in our department makes our work not efficient, demotivating my team. Teammates and I bear the brunt of their power tripping that we always argue with each other.
Unit Director is out of touch with our concerns. Not using proper channels to reprimand us.
