In 2006, the name was changed to NDC Maritime Leasing Corp. (NMLC) after it acquired the authority to operate as a financing company. NMLC was then focused on helping domestic shipping companies acquire vessels through finance leases for the Road RORO Terminal System of the Strong Republic Nautical Highway. DBP acquired NMLC in 2008 and renamed it DBP Maritime Leasing Corp.
