The Central Philippines State University (CPSU), formerly known as Negros State College of Agriculture, is a public state university in the Philippines. Its main campus is located in Kabankalan, Negros Occidental. CPSU started as Negros Occidental Agricultural School (NONAS) and was dubbed as the 1st Agricultural Institution in the country establish by a Filipino Superintendent in the name of Jose F. Crisanto immediately after World War II in 1946.The institution was converted to Negros Occidental Agricultural College (NOAC) by virtue of Presidential Authority on September 6, 1977. NOAC then was converted into state college known as the Negros State College of Agriculture (NSCA) by virtue of R.A. 9141 date July 3, 2001, and now, by virtue of the Republic Act (R.A.) 10228, NSCA was converted to Central Philippines State University in 2012.CPSU has 9 external campuses, in the Province of Negros Occidental, particularly located in the Cities of: Sipalay, Victorias, and San Carlos; and Municipalities of: Hinoba-an, Cauayan, Candoni, Ilog, Hinigaran, and Moises Padilla.CPSU has also 9 colleges namely: College of Agriculture and Forestry; College of Teacher Education; College of Arts and Sciences; College of Business and Management; College of Engineering; College of Computer Studies and College of Criminal Justice Education. The University also offers Graduate School programs in Master’s and Doctorate degrees.MANDATE (Sec. 2, RA 10228): The University shall primarily provide advanced education, higher technological, professional instruction and training in agriculture/ fisheries, animal science, forestry, education, computer studies, engineering, arts and sciences and other relevant fields of study. It shall also promote and undertake research, extension services and provide progressive leadership in its areas of specialization.VISION: CPSU as the leading technology-driven multi-disciplinary University by 2030.MISSION: CPSU is committed to produce competent graduates who can generate and extend leading technologies in multidisciplinary areas beneficial to the community
