Borough Medical Care Institute, Inc. at the Cyber One building in Eastwood City, started operations in 2004 as a multi-specialty clinic catering to walk-ins, HMO clientele, corporate accounts, etc. It offered a wide range of out-patient health services, then expanded and branched out to SM Mall of Asia in 2006 and in Subic Freeport Zone, now in Harbor Point Mall.Since one of the directors of BMCII is an Ophthalmologist, BMCII set up an eye care center in Eastwood and in its branch in SM Mall of Asia. BMCII then became known as an affordable cataract surgery center with the latest machines for cataract surgery. More than 15 eye surgeons operated on more than 2,000 eyes per year in both centers. Since then, Borough has given back sight to thousands of Filipinos.BMCII strives to be updated with the fast evolution of technology for eye surgery especially when it comes to Cataract and Refractive Surgery. In the last few years, the femtosecond laser technology has become the gold standard in treating cataracts to ensure the best results in the United States, Europe, Australia and now in Asia.
