The Bohol Island State University was established in October 14, 2009 by virtue of R.A. 9722. It is an act converting Visayas State College of Agriculture, Forestry and Technology (CVSCAFT). Is started from a humble community school last 1912, named as Bilar Farm School (BFS). On October 14, 2009, the school evolved afresh with the new Bohol Island State University by virtue of Republic Act 9722 converting the college, it's unit and satellite campuses into a University.
