I really like what I experienced here. The mandatory RTO is just what I don't like. The good thingsDisclaimer: All of these are just based on what I experienced. Yours can be different depending on which project or client you will be deployed.
The good things:
- There's a lot of resource (documentation and video materials) that you can use to upskill.
- The team of the project that I joined to is very supportive. It significantly reduces the stress that comes with the work.
- What I am doing is mostly related to automation and AI related (ML, LLM, and a little bit of Agentic just recently)
- Its flexible time. We don't have time-in and time-out. Just do your work honestly and the rest of the working hours is all yours to do whatever you want to do.
The challengesOverall:
- The mandatory RTO that has been implemented recently and this is for all (or maybe not including the MDs and above?). It is 2x RTO per week.
For the Project that I joined:
- In general, it is internal. So, the technologies our team is using is all internal also.
- Finding the documentation for the asset is quite challenging since it is internal. If the issue is new, you've got no choice but raise it directly to the product team. As for the client, you need to explain it very well so that the fall doesn't end up to your team.
