What's it like to be a Driving Instructor?
A Driving Instructor spends their days teaching and guiding individuals through the process of learning how to drive. How to become a Driving Instructor
Formal training and relevant experience in driving are necessary to become a Driving Instructor.
Ensure that you meet the minimum requirements set by the Land Transportation Office (LTO) in the Philippines to become a Driving Instructor. These requirements typically include being at least 21 years old, holding a valid professional driver's license for at least three years, and having a clean driving record.
Obtain a TESDA Driving NC II Certification. Enroll in a Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) accredited driving school and complete the Driving NC II course. This course provides the necessary training in instructional methods, driving techniques, traffic rules, and safety regulations.
Participate in a Driving Instructor Training Program offered by a recognized driving school or organization. This training provides specialized instruction on teaching methodologies, effective communication, coaching techniques, and student assessment.
Pass the LTO Driving Instructor Examination: After completing the required training, you need to pass the examination conducted by the Land Transportation Office (LTO) to become a certified driving instructor.
Apply for a Driving Instructor License. Once you have passed the LTO examination, you can apply for a Driving Instructor License. Submit the necessary documents, including your application form, training certificates, and exam results, to the LTO office. Pay the applicable fees and follow the registration process as required.
