What are the best companies in the Philippines? The answers may vary, depending on metrics. But what matters most is to look for a company that’s best for you.
Jobseekers like you have different priorities when searching for potential employers. Some value salary, while others look for professional growth. To unveil what jobseekers want, JobStreet, together with The Network and the Boston Consulting Group released the Decoding the Global Talent report. Though the survey had international participants, it also focused on Filipinos’ job preferences.
This consideration understandably took the top spot in the light of staff downsizing and company shutdowns because of the global health crisis. Filipinos realized how unstable jobs could be, and looked for roles that could thrive during the pandemic. These included emerging jobs, including digital and remote ones, for which, according to the report, 70% of local employees were willing to reskill.
Work-life balance has been a top-ranking preference even before the pandemic. This allows you ample time and opportunities to tend to your personal growth while enjoying a prosperous career. With this balance, you can manage stress, which equates to good health and quality of life.
A professional and respectful relationship with your boss boosts your productivity and morale. If you’re motivated to work, then you have a better chance to succeed in your career.
Because of the economic shift and the rise of digitization, these new job preferences emerged.
Work-from-home setups and output-based jobs are only some of the examples of work flexibility. While this allows companies to continue operations despite major upheavals, it can also give you work-life balance.
If you’re part of the younger batch of jobseekers, then your employer’s values may also be important to you. Today’s candidates prefer companies that practice environmental awareness, diversity and inclusion in the workplace. In fact, the report says that about 58% of applicants would forego companies that don’t have these values.
