URGENT! Accounting Manager/Controller (Onsite in Angeles City, Pampanga)
About the Role
Our client operates a growing portfolio of businesses spanning multi-unit restaurant operations and closely held technology companies. We're looking for a hands-on, U.S. GAAP–fluent Accounting Manager/Controller who can independently own the entire accounting cycle from day one — and who has the ambition and capability to build and train an accounting team as we scale.
This is a "player-coach" role. In the early stages you will personally do the work: closing the books, reconciling every account, and producing clean financials. As you prove out the processes, you'll document them, then recruit and train staff to take on routine tasks so you can focus on higher-level oversight and reporting.
We are hiring for caliber, not just coverage. The right person operates at the level of a U.S.-based controller and takes full ownership without needing to be managed day to day.
What You'll Do
Own the full accounting cycle
Manage end-to-end month-end close across multiple entities (restaurant units and technology companies)
Produce accurate, timely financial statements (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow) for each entity and on a consolidated basis
Maintain the general ledger, chart of accounts, and accounting policies in line with U.S. GAAP
Reconcile everything, fully and independently
Perform and review all reconciliations: bank, credit card, merchant/processor, balance sheet, and intercompany
Reconcile daily restaurant sales to POS, deposits, and third-party delivery platforms
Resolve discrepancies independently and keep accounts clean and audit-ready
Restaurant operations accounting
Daily sales reconciliation, cost of goods sold (COGS), food and labor cost tracking, and inventory
Tip reporting, sales/use tax, and multi-unit performance reporting
Support unit-level and rollup reporting for operators and ownership
Technology company accounting
Revenue recognition (ASC 606), deferred revenue, and recurring/subscription billing where applicable
Intercompany transactions, allocations, and eliminations
Support reporting needs around R&D, capitalization, and investor or owner reporting
Oversight and controls
Oversee AP, AR, and payroll processing and ensure accuracy and timeliness
Establish and maintain internal controls and documented procedures
Support budgeting, forecasting, and cash-flow management
Build and lead the team (growth path)
Document processes and create repeatable workflows
As the workload supports it, recruit, train, and manage staff accountants and bookkeepers
Grow into the leader of a small accounting team supporting the full portfolio
What We're Looking For
Bachelor's degree in Accounting (CPA — is not required but is a big advantage)
6+ years of progressive accounting experience, including controller or assistant controller responsibilities
Strong U.S. GAAP knowledge and direct experience supporting U.S.-based companies
Proven ability to independently own a full month-end close start to finish — not just assist
Demonstrated full-cycle reconciliation experience across multiple accounts and entities
Multi-entity and/or multi-unit accounting experience
Excellent written and verbal English communication
Self-directed, detail-oriented, and comfortable being the most senior accounting person in the organization
Preferred / A Strong Plus
Restaurant industry experience (multi-unit a major plus)
Technology / SaaS company experience
Experience with one or more of: Restaurant365, QuickBooks Online, NetSuite, Sage Intacct, Bill.com, Ramp, Gusto, or ADP
POS platform familiarity (Toast, Square, etc.)
Prior experience building or training an offshore or in-house accounting team
Schedule & Growth
Work Schedule: Hours aligned to U.S. business hours to enable real-time collaboration.
Career path: A clear runway to build and lead the accounting team for a growing multi-business portfolio.
