Qualifications
Skills Required
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant accounting, bookkeeping, payroll, or finance experience
- Strong numerical accuracy and attention to detail
- Advanced Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets proficiency
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and financial management concepts
- Knowledge of relevant accounting laws, regulations, and compliance requirements
- Strong understanding of Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, bank reconciliations, and General Ledger reconciliations
- Knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards and Financial Reporting Standards
- Knowledge of Australian taxation legislation, including GST, FBT, Income Tax, and Payroll Tax
- Strong reconciliation, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Intermediate experience in creditors management and payment processing
- Proficiency in spreadsheet creation, formulas, and financial reporting tools
- Ability to manage competing priorities across multiple departments
- Ability to work independently, use initiative, and meet deadlines
- Excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skills

Responsibilities
Bookkeeping Tasks
- Perform data entry of day-to-day financial transactions in Xero, including Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, credit card transactions, purchase invoices, customer invoicing, customer payments, and petty cash transactions
- Maintain and reconcile the fixed asset register
- Ensure financial records are complete, accurate, and up to date
Reconciliation Tasks
- Review and balance bank accounts and credit card accounts daily and at month-end
- Validate creditors' and suppliers' accounts at month-end
- Verify General Ledger account balances at month-end
- Match financial data across operational systems, including CRM and Stripe
- Complete month-end processes, including the preparation of Xero workpapers
Payroll, PAYG, BAS, Finance, and Reporting Tasks
- Verify new employee information in Xero and maintain organized payroll records
- Prepare and process fortnightly payroll, including generation of pay advice slips
- Process and pay monthly employee reimbursements
- Prepare payroll tax working papers and lodge quarterly payroll taxes
- Maintain accurate employee entitlement records, including salary sacrifice arrangements, leave balances, salary increments, and workers' compensation payments
- Reconcile superannuation entitlements quarterly and coordinate payments in compliance with ATO requirements
- Assist the CEO in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual reports, including PAYG, BAS, and PAYG Summaries
- Prepare and lodge annual WorkCover, insurance, and other statutory requirements
- Maintain accurate and current cash flow reports
- Assist with the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts
- Maintain financial forecasts and reporting models
General Tasks
- Perform ad hoc duties as assigned by departmental managers or directors
- Update internal time-management tools and align task priorities with the CEO
- Identify opportunities for process and procedural improvements
- Support the implementation of software solutions that improve efficiency, financial performance, and reporting visibility
