Quantity Surveyor – CSA (Civil, Structural, and Architectural)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop detailed cost estimates and quantity take-offs for Civil, Structural, and Architectural (CSA) works based on approved drawings, specifications, and project requirements.

  • Prepare and review Bills of Quantities (BOQ), tender documents, and cost proposals for project bidding and procurement activities.

  • Oversee the tendering process, including bid evaluation, cost comparison, and recommendation of contractors and suppliers.

  • Monitor and ensure compliance with contract terms, project specifications, and commercial requirements throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Evaluate, assess, and manage variation orders and change requests, ensuring proper documentation, cost justification, and approval processes are followed.

  • Conduct cost analysis and value engineering studies to identify opportunities for cost optimization while maintaining project quality, safety, and performance standards.

  • Monitor project costs, track budget utilization, and prepare regular cost reports to support project management and decision-making.

  • Ensure all cost estimates, budgets, and project expenditures are aligned with current market rates and industry standards.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or Architecture.

    • Must be a Licensed Civil Engineer or Licensed Architect.

    • At least three (3) years of relevant experience in Quantity Surveying, cost estimation, cost control, and budget management within the construction industry.

    • Experience in Civil, Structural, and Architectural (CSA) works for residential, commercial, industrial, or mixed-use development projects.

    • Experience in tendering, contract administration, and project cost monitoring is an advantage.

    Knowledge

    • House and Land Development processes and construction methodologies.

    • Quantity take-off, cost estimation, budgeting, and cost control principles.

    • Contract administration, tendering, and procurement processes.

    • Engineering and design software such as AutoCAD and other quantity surveying tools.

    • Microsoft Office Applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook).

    • Construction materials, methods, and current market pricing.

    • Business Ethics and Corporate Governance Frameworks.

    • Excellent cost estimation and quantity take-off skills.

    • Strong analytical and strategic thinking capabilities.

    • Effective budget planning, monitoring, and cost control skills.

    • Strong negotiation and contract management skills.

    • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
