    Volvo Cars in the Philippines first opened its doors to the local market in November 1994 through its authorized and official dealership, Viking Cars, Incorporated (VCI).The first-ever Volvo Philippines showroom and full-service center are located at 2272 Chino Roces Avenue, Makati City. The showroom has recently transformed and boasts state-of-the-art systems and facilities in tune with the times.Volvo Philippines is also the first automotive luxury brand in the country to offer Volvo Concierge, a client-focused service offering online sales and aftersales services via online and mobile channels.VCI has always shown dedication and commitment to its valued customers from the start. It has brought iconic Volvo car models in the Philippines, such as the popular Volvo 850 series, followed by the Volvo 960 executive sedan in the early to mid-90s.In 1997, VCI rolled out the Volvo S40 compact sedan and Volvo V40 wagon. These two models clinched top spots in the local luxury compact category.As the years rolled on, VCI added more and more models to the already good-looking Swedish family. In 2001, the flagship Volvo S80 sedan rolled in, followed closely by the mid-size Volvo S60 sports sedan. The entry of these models has made Volvo an even more significant player in the luxury car segment.VCI continued to sell profitable cars guided by strict adherence to its company values and excellent customer service commitment. As the local car market progressed, the company brought in refreshed variants of the S40 and V50 and introduced several models to fill in the gaps in other vehicle categories. The Volvo V70 station wagon answered the need for a spacious people and cargo carrier, while the Volvo S80 luxury sedan provided utmost sophistication for saloon seekers.The early 2000s saw the introduction of the world’s first seven-seat SUV – the Volvo XC90. This seven-seater SUV has taken the market by storm, with its safety leadership in the crossover segment boosted by its adventurous nature, elegantly rugged design, and exciting drive. The XC-Range was further muscled up with the arrival of the All-New Volvo XC70, reinforcing Volvo’s leadership in the crossover segment.2007 marked the astounding success of VCI with the introduction of the iconic Volvo C30 Sports Coupe. A two-door pocket rocket that is nimble on the streets and swift on the high roads, the Volvo C30 enjoyed rousing success. It became the first and only European luxury car to bag the coveted Car of the Year Award.In 2009, another groundbreaking Volvo was introduced through the world’s first car that can stop itself – the Volvo XC60. This compact SUV has astounded the market with class-leading safety innovations with its stunning design and high-tech features.As years rolled by, VCI introduced several other car models, including the powerful All-New Volvo S60 and V60 Sportswagon. In addition, the Volvo models closely carried a host of world-firsts – the All-New Volvo V40 and All-New Volvo V40 Cross Country.In more recent years, VCI has introduced several refreshed and all-new variants. The company’s continued efforts to support its customers’ different lifestyles and motoring need fuel the company to bring in the latest Volvo vehicles.Volvo Philippines is one with its parent company, Volvo Car Corporation (VCC) in Gothenburg, Sweden, as it shifts its direction toward an all-electric future. In line with this, VCI is the first premium car brand to bring a range of plug-in hybrid and mild hybrid vehicles to the market.The Philippine market saw new models with electrified powertrains such as the Volvo XC90, Volvo S90, Volvo XC60, Volvo V90 CC, and the Volvo XC40. Furthermore, in late 2020, VCI became the first premium automotive dealer to launch a range of Plug-in Hybrids in the Philippines. From the latter part of that year continuing through the whole of 2021, the turbocharged plug-in hybrid versions of the Volvo XC40, XC60, XC90, and S90 have become a market favorite for their combination of power, technology, and fuel efficiency. This year, this range of award-winning vehicles will be powered by the innovative B6 Hybrid system.As VCC moves forward in redefining personal mobility, VCI ensures that the Filipino motoring public has access to these finely-crafted, high-technology, and dynamic vehicles.
