Great Experience as an InternThe good thingsTaktyl Studios provide a good look at the internal workings of a game development company and what I can and should learn when it comes to game programming. Everyone is open to helping or offering advice whenever I struggle with a particular task. The company culture is great and I love learning about the company's growth and future plans especially with the push to be a more independent game development studio and plans on making more indie games. For the most part, I am trusted to work on important parts of a client project even as an intern. I also like the once-a-week initiative on the game development department for researching new tech and focusing not just on our individual growth but also our growth as a whole.
The challengesOne important thing to keep in mind is that Taktyl Studios is still a growing company, and you'll certainly learn a lot but sometimes you'll also need to do your own research and not have the unrealistic expectation that everyone can just give you what you need to know at any time. You'll also have to sometimes work on a lot of documentation, which for me personally is a bit draining, but it's just another aspect of work that I need to get used to.
