The heritage of Saint Pedro Poveda College, formerly known as Poveda Learning Centre, stems back to 1960 when Institucion Teresiana School was opened. The school first offered Kindergarten and Primary classes, and began offering Preschool, Elementary and High School Education by 1969.In December 3, 1974, during the birth centennial celebration of St. Pedro Poveda, Institucion Teresiana School changed its name to Poveda Learning Center, as a fitting tribute to him. That same year, UNESCO honored Pedro Poveda as "Humanist and Educator."In 2005, it has once again changed its name to Saint Pedro Poveda College when it opened its door to tertiary students.Personalized Education of Poveda, the brand of education that the institution espouses, focuses on the dignity of the students and how they can be holistically developed to bring transformation in society.
