I may have some challenges working with Rider Levett Bucknall Philippines during my years there, I am still very grateful for giving me the chance to become a Quantity Surveyor.
The good thingsIf you want to start a career in Quantity Surveying with good exposure in vertical structures, Infrastructure, and Land Development, this might be the company for you.
The challengesThe pay is quite low to average compared to other engineering consultancy in the Philippines. They give little to no trainings for career advancement. There is lots of politics in the office. The management is almost non-supportive when it comes to upskilling its workforce. I am not sure if they offer WFH/Hybrid work set-up or if they are full on-site.

If you're looking for management training specifically managerial this is good for you.
The good thingsGood things are you'll have your own office/space and the important focal point due to much arriving projects which are all high rise buildings, your discipline will be exposed to a lot of innovative designs.
The challengesIndustry Politics is present anywhere you go. But I recommend to separate personal from work matters when dealing with business (Perhaps luckily you wouldn't experience such when you're ordinary employee or company could have handled you capablely :p). Also transparency in projects w/c will help more to project completion efficiency.

    Worst company to be with
The good thingsThere are no good things in this company.
The challengesUnderstanding my colleagues and their attitudes, how they treated you, how they talk to you, how they look at you. As if you don't know anything. They even feel you that you're not welcome to the group. No respect and worst of all no camaraderie.

    Lack of Support (literally)
The good thingsGood things are those my colleagues on site. Great team work. As if we own the process perse. Even without the support of the management.
The challengesProper coordination especially with the management. It's very evident that lack of support can kill the project and morale of the team. :)

Has been a progressive working environment for me working with RLB team
The good thingsI enjoyed having to work with great people in the field of Project Management. That i was able to freely make decisions on the things i am knowledgeable of. I was able to improve a lot on my management skills and was able to deliver results. It's quite a challenge but i love challenges especially if it improves me profesionally like having to discuss on the table with various disciplines the solutions to certain construction problems. Overall, it was a great experience
The challengesOne of the little challenges is that, since we work on site, the supply of necessary documentary or office materials needs to be transported and we had to do it ourselves. On the bigger ones, we had to teally deal with the construction schedule and that we had to engage on issues promptly.
