it is good and bad at the same time
The good thingsI was assigned in the head office so all the learning experience was great.
The challengesThere's no career growth. The promotion to officer is so slow even when you've been in one of the biggest branch for years.

Great company if you're planning for retirement/ long-term employment
The good thingsPNB provides excellent benefits package for officers of any rank/ position. For a traditional Bank, PNB's quite good in keeping up with fast-changing environment and provides for alternative work arrangements, mental health counselling and webinars, learning and development programs, and various employee awards and recognitions. The Bank also allows flexible transfer to other units so you can change into your target career paths should you want to explore.
The challengesLack of manpower makes the workload heavier than usual. Onsite facilities aren't that great considering ergonomic offices is in the new. Career progression is slow for support units.

Great co-workers and environment but needs more ferocity and willingness to take risks.
The good thingsEmployer created a culture around work that made going to the office something enjoyable. My boss was easy to approach and communicate with. I always felt that my boss had my back even if it placed him/her at wits with other heads.
The challengesI always felt like we were lagging behind the competition. It was always a game of catching up rather than trying to win.

Great Training but Stagnant Salary for years
The good thingsThe company provides really good training for their employees. I can say, I became knowledgeable in banking because of this Bank. This Bank really invests well in educating their employees about their assigned job. However, salary increase really isn't a thing. No yearly increase. You can only get an increase once you're promoted. Promotion would usually take 2-5yrs depending on which department you are in. But the benefits of this Bank are really good. 16th month pay, with profit sharing, rice allowance, and clothing allowance. The HMO also includes your dependents for free.
The challengesSome departments are on a seniority basis when it comes to promotion regardless of your performance. It would take very long for you to get promoted and once you're promoted, the increase is just 10%. No yearly increase in salary also. Working in big banks is also very stressful.
