Philip B. Santos & Co. (Formerly Petronilo S. Santos & Co.) traces its roots back to 1940 when Messrs. Francisco Dalupan and Jose L. Torres two of the most notable pioneers of the accounting profession formed Dalupan & Torres, CPAs. The firm name was changed to Jose L. Torres & Co. in 1947 when Mr. Dalupan left public practice and concentrated on accounting education. He was one of the founders and first president of the University of the East, the biggest business school in the Philippines.On January 10, 1955, Mr. Petronilo S. Santos joined Jose L. Torres & Co. In 1976, he formally assumed the management of the practice, which became known since then as Petronilo S. Santos & Co. (PSS & Co.). Mr. Santos is also one of the leading accounting educators.
