The Parole and Probation Administration is a government institution under the Department of Justice of the Republic of the Philippines. It is an Agency created to administer the probation system by the vitrue of Presidential Decree No. 968 otherwise known as "The Probation Law" of 1976, and was given an added function of supervising prisoners who, after serving part of their sentence in jails are released on parole or are granted pardon with parole conditions. The Agency's mandate is to conserve and/or redeem convicted offenders and prisoners who are under the probation or parole system. To Carry out its mandate, goals and functions, the regional offices was organized to supervise and provide administrative support services to the provincial and city parole and probation offices in the country which directly undertake the investigation, supervision and rehabilitation of clients.
