MANDATEThe Local Government Unit (LGU) of Cortes shall endeavor to be self-reliant and shall continue exercising the powers and discharging the duties and functions currently vested upon them. It shall also discharge the functions and responsibilities of national agencies and offices developed to them pursuant to Republic Act (RA) 7160 or the Local Government Code of 1991. The LGU shall likewise exercise such other powers and discharge such other functions and responsibities that are necessary, appropriate, or incidental to efficient and effective provision of the basic services and facilities.VISIONCORTES as a leading eco-cultural tourist destination with a God-Loving and morally upright comumunity in a competitive, progressive economy with a balanced, peaceful and clean environment under a firm and decent leadership.MISSIONTo promote the general welfare of its constituents through effective and efficient delivery of basic services and facilities, preservation of natural resources and cultural heritage, increase employment opportunities, enchancement of local economy and the maintenanceof peace and order and public safety.
