The Municipality of Carrascal as a 4th class municipality strives to achieve its vision to be a center of industrialization in Surigao del Sur sustained by a balance management of the Environment and Natural Resources for Socio-Economic Development where vigilant and empowered citizens live under a firm, responsive and pro-active leadership, and a mission of empowering the citizenry to provide quality service to its people through provision of alternative livelihood programs, rural infrastructure and better social services, adopt and promote transparent governance, improve efficiency in its operations and guarantee proper utilization of its natural resources.With the strive to achieve this goal, the municipality continues to provide sustainable development to the community and the people through livelihood programs with a strengthened stewardship for the environment.During the planning duration, it has been intelligently identified that Mining is the primary driver of the municipality’s economy bringing so much progress in the different sectors in the community. Being a mining town, we are at the upper hand of providing sustainability and long-term development through project procurement to the people. On the one side, we are also challenged in environment protection which is also one of the priorities of the Local Chief Executive.
