Cantilan is a 2nd class municipality created by virtue of Royal Decree dated, year 1782. Cantilan, dubbed as the “cradle of town”, among its daughter municipalities were Carrascal, Madrid, Carmen, Lanuza. The Local Government Unit of Cantilan created ten (10) mandatory offices and five (5) optional offices the Local Chief Executive directly supervise the thirteen (13) heads of offices that are also responsible in the supervising of their respective department and one (1) head of office is under the supervision of the Vice Mayor.
