Values-driven company making work feel meaningful beyond just business results.
The good thingsVery intentional in helping me grow, not just in my role but also as a person. I’ve been given opportunities to attend external trainings, take on meaningful work, and contribute in ways that make me feel trusted and empowered. What I also appreciate is how strongly the company lives out its values. Work-life balance is respected, and we even have paid time for Bible studies and advocacy work. Appreciate how the management studies job leveling and compensation benchmarking to make sure that employees are compensated well and sustainably (according to performance, of course!)
The challengesBecause the company is very mission-driven and fast-moving, there are times when the work can feel full and demanding, especially when there are many initiatives happening at the same time. Thankfully, though, the bosses are very open to listen so that initiatives can be prioritized.

    Politics is within the owners
The good thingsIf you are looking for a work-life balance, I would say that GKI is a so so..
The challengesSlow to no career growth.. salary is not competitive and not industry standard. Incentives are on and off depending on the mood of the owner

    Think before you apply
The good thingsWork schedule - flexible True to their advocacy of helping others.
The challengesIt's a too good to be true company. Wonder why ang bilis ng turn over ng tao. Unbelievable HR and company policies. It's true that they are offering more than the living wage but wala kasi sila masyadong benefits. Old school ang system, naka-SAP pero SAP B1 pa. Sobrang manual!

The company for people who really want to help
The good thingsThis company is a great “third way”. Salaries for middle managers might not be quite as high as the biggest multinationals, but far, far above NGOs. If you want to help others and help the Philippines but can’t survive on an NGO salary, this is the place for you.
The challengesIf you are not willing to unlearn some of what you already learned, or if you expect the quality of your work to never be challenged, this is not the company for you! You will learn plenty of new things if you’re teachable and will be given autonomy once you’ve proved yourself and not before.

Entrepreneurial, Strong Values, and Lots of Learning Opportunities.
The good thingsWorking for Human Nature will allow you to learn so many things that usual routine jobs will not be able to bring out. Check the company values if it jives with yours, and it would be fulfilling. Lastly, office is in QC, so it spared me from the usual time consuming travel to Ortigas/Makati.
The challengesIt could get very fast paced and it demands flexibility and creativity. It used to be very stressful, but there has been cultural shift recently.

The challengesUnusual management styles No room for career progression Job roles that change quickly without a clear job description High stress from continually changing management directions

    This is something new!
The good thingsThe Management and the employees of Gandang Kalikasan Inc. are all service-driven and are very passionate in what they do. They are selfless and have contributed greatly to bring positive change to the country. They have helped our farming communities by using natural resource base products and even made a name for the Filipinos and the Philippines.
The challengesWell. because they are too driven by their passion that they forget that people needs to have a work-life-balance life. They sometimes tend to forget that a quality time for self and family matters and produces a more effective and efficient worker. I think they need to understand the value of balance.
