Values-driven company making work feel meaningful beyond just business results.
The good thingsVery intentional in helping me grow, not just in my role but also as a person. I’ve been given opportunities to attend external trainings, take on meaningful work, and contribute in ways that make me feel trusted and empowered. What I also appreciate is how strongly the company lives out its values. Work-life balance is respected, and we even have paid time for Bible studies and advocacy work. Appreciate how the management studies job leveling and compensation benchmarking to make sure that employees are compensated well and sustainably (according to performance, of course!)
The challengesBecause the company is very mission-driven and fast-moving, there are times when the work can feel full and demanding, especially when there are many initiatives happening at the same time. Thankfully, though, the bosses are very open to listen so that initiatives can be prioritized.

The challengesSlow to no career growth.. salary is not competitive and not industry standard. Incentives are on and off depending on the mood of the owner

The good thingsWork schedule - flexible True to their advocacy of helping others.
The challengesIt's a too good to be true company. Wonder why ang bilis ng turn over ng tao. Unbelievable HR and company policies. It's true that they are offering more than the living wage but wala kasi sila masyadong benefits. Old school ang system, naka-SAP pero SAP B1 pa. Sobrang manual!

A company like no other - one of the best in the Philippines!
The good things1. Mission Driven and God centered company. 2. Family oriented, which I personally like since my goals and company aligns, they really understand my needs especially Im a solo parent. I work on flexi time, wfh this pandemic, soloparent leave on top of leave credits which my previous company wont let me use. 3. Career growth and enhancement. 4. Extend financial help to my family during emergencies, my son was offered scholarship for a year, they offered relocation in laguna which is near my family. 5. No firing policy. -The space is not enough, there are many as i can remember! I'm happy and grateful to be with Human Nature.
The challengesThe company is not perfect. There are flaws and improvement needed. Everyday is a challenge, to improve and become better.

The company for people who really want to help
The good thingsThis company is a great “third way”. Salaries for middle managers might not be quite as high as the biggest multinationals, but far, far above NGOs. If you want to help others and help the Philippines but can’t survive on an NGO salary, this is the place for you.
The challengesIf you are not willing to unlearn some of what you already learned, or if you expect the quality of your work to never be challenged, this is not the company for you! You will learn plenty of new things if you’re teachable and will be given autonomy once you’ve proved yourself and not before.

Entrepreneurial, Strong Values, and Lots of Learning Opportunities.
The good thingsWorking for Human Nature will allow you to learn so many things that usual routine jobs will not be able to bring out. Check the company values if it jives with yours, and it would be fulfilling. Lastly, office is in QC, so it spared me from the usual time consuming travel to Ortigas/Makati.
The challengesIt could get very fast paced and it demands flexibility and creativity. It used to be very stressful, but there has been cultural shift recently.

    Purpose-driven work, mostly great
The good thingsThis company is genuinely pro-poor, pro-Philippines and pro-environment and working here makes me feel I'm genuinely helping the Philippines. Some of the nicest people I've ever worked with are here and you can see that the company really tries hard to live out their values as a faith-driven company. The company announced that they would not have any layoffs during Covid and they have stuck to their word (even though sales went down). Interest-free loans. Shortened work hours (7 hours a day) when it's not peak season for the same pay. Mostly I can see that they really try their best to care for their people.
The challengesHonestly, there are things to fix in some processes. I guess when you pay everyone the living wage instead of minimum wage it doesn't leave as much money to buy the best systems for the company, so their SAP system is kinda outdated. That can be a bit challenging. But overall, I feel like they prioritize the people.

    Poorly thought-about company policies
The good things- flexible working hours - activities boost spiritual health - above average salary compared to other provincial companies.
The challenges- work load not equally distributed - hr policies are doubtful to be compliant - no professional growth for employees

    Challenging
The good thingsYou get to be part of an organization who has an objective to help people in general. You are encouraged to rekindle your relationship with the Lord.
The challengesToo much workload Unappreciative management Maybe it is best for you to conduct a survey on the employees that are still there in your company. So you'll know what is in their hearts. But please make it like an anonymous style and not an email to the founders as people would never tell you what's in their hearts like that.

    Full of heart
The good thingsI love that we get to be involved in so many things that everyday doesn’t feel routinary. Workmates are like family and work is fun; there’s always work to do but the outcomes are always something to look forward to. We get to enjoy a shortened work schedule, too and a pretty satisfying salary compensation.
The challengesI tend to work more hours since there’s so much to do but I don’t really mind because it’s fun; you don’t even notice the time passing by. My position requires a lot of coordination within the marketing team so prioritization is quite a challenge.

    Humans of Human Nature. :)
The good thingsWe are more than just an employee who works day in, day out. Human Nature not only recognizes but even supports the fact that we are also sports enthusiasts, budding entrepreneurs, mountaineers, parents, health buff, etc. The company knows that we don't just exist to work but provides an opportunity to be whatever else we want to be. We enjoy shortened work hours but get paid the full amount. We are provided with decent pays and benefits. We have special programs, which maybe out of this world for many companies in the country, that cater to different people's needs. We are free to raise our concerns and we know we will be heard.
The challengesOur facilities aren't the best kind. We definitely would appreciate a better office with bigger space, but we know that the resources are being allocated to more meaningful, impactful programs; so for now we will have to deal with what we have at the moment. Being part of the HR team, our roles often times get us to be attached with our people and their concerns -- sometimes too attached that our involvement gets too deep and somehow affects us.

    Work-life balance exists!
The good thingsIndeed a company with a heart, not just for the poort but for its people as well! I love that I get to enjoy life outside work because of our shortened work hours. I am thankful as well because I get to experience volunteering to GK and others because of the company’s advocacies!
The challengesLots of approver! 😅 But I think this is something that the company is already working on.

Working for a purpose while ensuring the business thrives
The good things1. A lot of advocacy activities so if you want to have a sense of real purpose and contributing to changing society - then this is a good place for you. 2. Pushing work-life balance, helping you to enjoy time with family. 3. If you practice your faith, you will deepen it here.
The challenges1. It still is like any regular business with a lot of business challenges - maybe even more here because they prioritize spending on advocacies rather than on IT systems or marketing. 2. Although 10 years old already, still needs a lot of processes to be standardized and made more efficient. 3. With a no firing policy so sometimes you have to work with less productive, problematic people. Maybe that's why they are more strict with regularization.

Looks good on TV, paper, and online. But when you're there, it's bad.
The good thingsShortened work hours (during non-peak season), product discount. Friendly colleagues. That's it.
The challenges- It's a family company. You can never really carve your career growth here. - No proper delineation of tasks. Your KRAs will remain challenged for performance evaluation, but you may be asked to do other tasks unrelated to your job title because of understaffing. - Lack of tools that can aid you in your tasks. - Unfair labor policies: Work on holidays but no holiday pay. (there's work on election day).

Pro poor but not pro employee
The good thingsYou get to help the famers make a living, which is always a good thing.
The challenges1. Core values are not practiced. They help the poor but working there, you realize that they are just good for show. Basically an emotional marketing ploy, using the "goodness" to sell but not really practiced amongst employees. 2. No delineation of tasks. You do so many things because of the messy org structure. 3. Extreme micromanagment. It's not healthy, very stressful.

The good thingsThe opportunity to work with a social purpose You get to contribute to charity If you are the adventurous type, this is your company. Prepare to learn a lot of things outside your job description. A christian company with a lot to offer. Work-life balance is THE privilege.
The challengesYou need to learn to have a unique approach to your job, which helps greatly. Management can be all over the place, with certain departments being of the lean characteristics, staff-wise.

The challenges1. Micromanaging of the executives/owners 2. High stress levels, no work-life balance. Even eating and going to the CR have to be deferred due to daily workload 3. Too restrictive company culture

The good thingsI love that the company promotes love for the country and is helping a lot of poor community.
The challengesStress level is high. Very tight deadlines and long working hours. Employees do not genuinely feel the core values being practiced operationally because the bosses are focused on making sure your team are hitting your own deadlines and will not be blamed.

    Opportunity to Make a Difference
The good things*Families will thrive here. It's a great place to work if you're married or have children. The hours are reasonable & the policies are family-friendly. *The advocacy behind the business will make you proud. Gandang Kalikasan is a social enterprise that aims to help end poverty in the Philippines. It provides dignified wages for its rank & file plus full benefits. You can't help but feel happy you're working for a company with a good heart. *Leadership works hard to provide the best possible benefits to its employees. It's inspiring to work with an executive team who genuinely care for their employees.
The challenges*Some parts of the operations still need improvement. The way we operate is still vastly entrepreneurial in nature. *Doing good can burn you out. Be prepared to deal with a lot of guilt on bad days. *This is an organization that puts a premium on having a positive, \"can do\" attitude. This emphasis has downsides too: breakdown of effective feedback loop.
