    GERMAN MARINE AGENCIES, INC (GMA) a duly licensed manning agency was incorporated on 28th June 1989 and started business operations on 14th August, 1989. Currently, GMA has some 1,284 seamen employed on various kinds of vessels with another 500 vacationers ashore. Last June 1997 GMA passed its initial ISO 9002 certification which is still in place today. GMA passed its MLC 2006 – Regulation1:4 – Recruitment and Placement Last October 12, 2011GMA is conveniently located in its own premises at 3912 Hen. It has a modern and sophisticated office which can be reached about 20/25 minutes by car from all three major destinations in Metro Manila such as the Makati Business District, the POEA Building and the International Airport. It is accredited with the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA) with a fully paid capital of 15 million pesos.Captain Carlos A. Anacta has been running the company since its beginning as the President aside from his seagoing experience as a Master on dry cargo vessels and tankers, he gained several years experience as Operations Manager in the field of hiring Filipino Seamen before joining with GMA.GMA was set up under the helm of Captain Klaus S. Boehe, a well known-shipping executive from Germany and a partner in a large ship management company in both Germany and Hongkong. Captain Boehe, who is also a Director of GMA, possesses a solid experience in shipmanagement for almost 4 decades in Hongkong, the Philippines and Germany. Today, his representative in Manila is Mr. Rolf Dunder from Germany.The GMA organization complement includes 24 regular staff members handling the day to day office routine work. With the aid of a fully computerized office processing of all requirements of joining crew as well as remittances of allotments to their respective allotees are being attended to with sense of urgency, responsibility and reliability.A large number of qualified and experienced seamen are now available in GMA’s pool of crew. GMA has established a program of continuing education through regular lectures and seminars, in order to upgrade the qualification of seamen in its pool, thus maintaining their competitiveness with other seamen. In fact, a portion of the office has been remodeled for this purpose.GMA has its main client base in Germany, Hongkong, Mauritius, Cyprus, United Kingdom, Denmark and manages and mans bulkers, loggers, Full and Semi container vessels, LPG tankers, offshore vessels, selfunloaders, tugs, barges, cape size vessels and coasters. Last year 2013 GMA deployed 1,284 Filipino seafarers.
