BCM has been my comfort zone; hard to leave
The good thingsWork-life balance, great working environment, kind students, fixed salary, convenient schedule. I am an MA student so 5AM-2PM schedule actually worked well for me. I literally can be productive after work. It's been my comfort zone for the past 3 years and 10 months (and counting--- til I graduate, maybe).
The challengesmanagement can be more empathic, leave credits can be better, basic salary can definitely be higher than 15k (given the amount of students we get in a day--- personally I get around 35-38 students a day)

Outstanding training! I am a comeback teacher - the training before and the current training that they have is really exceptional. It goes without saying that the department’s manager has a good leadership skills and has passed it on the outputs.
The good thingsTraining and the learning curve
The challengesI hope operations will be good in handling their people too

Highly recommending to learn from their training!
The good thingsI am giving 5 stars because of new skills acquired during training and is actually helping me to become a good speaker. New manager seems professional and engaging and truly cares about her trainers’ people.
The challengesI think mindsetting? Too much negativity from the people staying in the office for a long time makes the workload more stressful

Meets expectation! Larger vision both personal and professional. I truly enjoyed my training before. Skilled trainers and engaging managers were met along way
The good thingsGood training experience! They have sets of skilled trainers and engaging managers were met.
The challengesHow colleagues comment faster to one another than speaking to their superior ASAP

    Managers are Boastful and Unprofessional
The good thingsThey are just good at first.
The challengesTeachers are like robots; must follow the managers only and do not have any rights to voice out their concerns.

The 5 stars you see are from the management
The good thingsCan't think of any to be honest. Well.. you make really nice friends though if you're lucky.
The challengesThey are a little pat e thic because they'd rather their image not tarnished than to actually act upon their areas for improvement

From bad management to bad payroll
The good thingsGood fellow teachers. Sympathetic and really friendly. My TL was nice but I heard that others aren't.
The challengesThe management changes the policies whenever it suits them-- mostly client-oriented. Salary can be delayed without explanation and there are always mistakes in payslips.

    Inconsiderate management
The good thingsI can't think of any aside from good and hard working teachers. That's it!
The challengesNothing much. Just the number of students you teach everyday is the one challenging and very exhausting.

    incompetent payroll.
The good thingsThe TL that I was assigned with is very good.
The challengesSince the training, we always experience late salary and wrong salary computation. Up to the last pay computation you still have to file a dispute.

    New management is terrible
The good thingsThe company is gearing towards BPO path. So it focuses on improving a systematic standard. You have a fixed salary unlike other ESL companies in the PH.
The challengesIt doesn't feel like you are teaching anymore. A lot of my students are saying they don't like this new "protocol", yet as teachers we are obliged to do it or else it will be taken against us. It doesn't feel like having a class with a student. You are working like a customer service agent not a teacher. So if you want an ESL path, this is definitely not the right company. If you just need a job and have a BPO experience. Then go apply.

Terrible management with no leadership skills whatsoever.
The good thingsThey used to have training to improve your pronunciation and teaching skills.
The challengesThe management changes the policy according to their needs and wants. They will not inform the teachers about the changes though.

The good thingsThe environment, compensation package, work-life balance

    No care for teachers
The good thingsGood benefits, incentives. Fun colleagues if you're on a good team
The challengesWorking hours aren't optimal. The company doesn't care much about their teachers, only their clients. Overloaded schedule if your performance is good

IF YOU WANT TO GROW A CAREER IN ESL ONLINE TEACHING
The good thingsMost professional, most ambitious and fastest growing ESL company I've been with (I've been in the industry for 10 years now). The pay is reasonable and most people are friendly and easygoing. Career opportunities are available if you opt to grow. High on core values.
The challengesQuite strict but within reasonable boundaries. Fast-paced and hard to fit in if you're used to complacency and easy money. Most ESL companies I know are small and informal in process and structure, CETT has become and is still working on being a proper corporation.

    Adaptability is a MUST
The good thingsThere were good people in the company. They were quite nice and friendly. They made life there quite easier.
The challenges1. They'll drop a memo and expect everyone to easily accomplish what the memo says in no time. 2. Teachers are overworked and the last ones to know. 3. Management seems so side more with the HQ than the local employees.

    Haughty Upper Management
The good thingsTeachers, trainers, and team leaders all try to have collaborative effort to help each other even during changes in the company. People are very approachable and fun-loving.
The challengesIt was actually a great experience at first but due to new upper managenent leaders coming from BPO who didn't have much knowledge about ESL Teaching, office atmosphere changes. They try to impose new rules which don't improve the employees' perf and morale. Culture becomes toxic. They aim for better numbers and offer only max if 4 official leave out of 200 employees a day. So people opt to go absent with warnings instead. More people are getting sick because of job burnout. It is becoming toxic and managers engagement to employees becomes not authentic anymore.

esl trying to be a bpo
The good thingsPeople, trainers, team leaders
The challengesToo many complicated policies Too many outsiders (managers coming from BPO companies) who seem not humble to reach to the people Ranking and comparison culture which sometimes hinder you from growing Not a healthy competition Too many lesson guideline changes. Not emphathetic enough to its people even the busy team leaders. I have seen one TL cry in the restroom due to so much stress.

Good working environment, friendly colleagues, a lot of benefits
The good thingsEmployers were kind and professional. They would train and teach you to become better at what you do. Some coworkers see it as nagging but if you have a professional mind, you would connect well with some bosses. Nice HMO and paid leave. They have team building and Christmas party every year and they really scout great places to spend the weekend with everyone.
The challengesThere are only two shifts, AM and PM and I regretted choosing the latter. You can't switch to AM shift unless someone resigned. The clients/students are sometimes unreasonable and if they don't like the teacher's personality, accent, or pronunciation, they might give you a low score/rating. I guess there are always people like that in every industry. It will certainly test your patience.

Great place to enhance your skill
The good thingsStudents were nice. The company provides support to enhance your skill set. Schedules allow you to have a work-life balance.
The challengesThe company's constant changes in policy. There were benefits such as leave but it's really hard to take. Most of the time it's a first come first serve and because they limit the number of people to take leaves every month you can barely schedule one.

    Not recommended for all
The good thingsPeople are approachable generally
The challengesOnly fresh graduates will want this kind of compensation like if they have no choice. There is no career growth here and they don't give value to their employees also.

    Greedy company
The good thingsThe friends I made. Apart from that, there's actually nothing else.
The challengesThey'll look for ways for you not to get your incentives. It's only the incentives that will pretty much bulk up that very low salary so it's really disheartening. They treat employees as dispensable tools.

Higher Basic Pay and Innovative in giving Employees' benefits
The good thingsBasic pay increased this year after introduction of HMO. Employees are cool and I love the team engagement activities. Also, good environment for those who have growth mindset. The company will transfer to a better building next year too so expect for better facilities.
The challengesYou must be ready to be a flexible and great teacher.
